How to Receive the Gift of Salvation

The 4 Spiritual Laws

Salvation is a free gift from God, offered to everyone, but many don’t know how to receive it. The 4 Spiritual Laws of Cru (formerly known as Campus Crusade for Christ) provide a simple and clear way to understand God’s plan for salvation and how to personally accept it.

1. God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life.
The Bible says in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” God’s love for you is real and personal. He created you to have a relationship with Him and to live a full life, both now and forever.

2. Because of sin, you are separated from God.
Sin is anything that breaks God’s perfect law — it includes wrong thoughts, actions, and attitudes. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Sin separates us from God and prevents us from experiencing His love and plan fully. It leads to spiritual death and separation from God.

3. Jesus Christ is God’s only provision for your sin.
Because of God’s love, He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to take the punishment for your sin by dying on the cross and rising again. Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Jesus is the only way to be restored to God and receive eternal life.

4. You must personally receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
Salvation is not automatic. You must choose to accept God’s gift by trusting Jesus Christ alone to save you. Revelation 3:20 says, “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” You receive Jesus by faith, believing in Him and inviting Him into your life.

How to Receive the Gift of Salvation Today

If you want to receive Jesus as your Savior, you can pray a simple prayer from your heart like this:

“Dear God, I know that I have sinned and that I need Your forgiveness. Thank You for sending Jesus to die for my sins and rise again. I ask You to forgive me and come into my life as my Lord and Savior. Help me to follow You all the days of my life. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

If you prayed this prayer sincerely, congratulations! You have received the gift of salvation and entered into a personal relationship with God.
